St. Mary's Elementary School

Fundraising & Donations Program

Throughout the year, St. Mary's fundraising and donations program provides events and opportunities to raise money for our school and students.

Fundraising

As a Group 1 Independent School, St. Mary’s receives 50% of the provincial education grant for operational funds. (e.g. teaching resources & supplies, salaries, maintenance). Our school raises the remaining 50% through tuition, parish subsidy and fundraising.

Throughout the year, we offer opportunities for parents to help support the school by pledging, purchasing or selling items.

St. Mary’s Parish Building Fund

We participate in a variety of capital fundraisers to help support the St. Mary’s Parish Building Fund. St. Mary’s Parish has decided to rebuild a new school following the results of a seismic evaluation confirming our changing needs to provide our students with excellent facilities and learning opportunities consistent for a 21st century learner. We plan to expand the number of classrooms and diverse programs to continue to provide excellent service to the greater St. Mary’s community. The school has initiated a voluntary Building Fund Pledge form to be distributed with the registration and re-registration package. Through your contributions, we can continue to build on a great legacy, and respond to the needs of future generations of dedication and committed Catholics. To find out more on how you can help, download our Building Fund Pledge Form from our website. Thank you for your generosity.

Building Fund Pledge

It has been several years since the parish embarked on a huge undertaking to rebuild the School following the results of a seismic evaluation proving the school building to be unsafe for our children and staff in the event of an earthquake.

The school is committed to its mission to provide the best academic education in an environment of faith & virtue for your children and for the families of St. Mary’s Parish; however, to accomplish this it is imperative that we all put our hearts and minds toward achieving this goal.

A lot has changed since we started this project. The parish is working diligently on a development plan to kickstart the project as soon as possible to avoid rising construction costs. It is for this reason that we will be most grateful to receive any contribution you can make in order to meet the anticipated start-up costs of our development plan. We are making progress. To date, our building fund stands at close to two million dollars. For this, we are profoundly thankful to our parishioners and school families. But as I’m sure you’ll agree, it’s reasonable to anticipate that this project will cost the parish significantly more than this amount.

Below is a pledge form outlining the many ways you can help. Kindly fill out the form, sign and return it to the school office with your Registration papers.

It is a blessing and our duty to uphold what God has given us here at St. Mary’s; our church, school, rectory, and grounds. These were built and paid for by past generations. Now it is our turn to pass on the gifts.

Together, we can build on a great legacy, bringing forth the wealth of our past and present to respond to the needs of future generations of dedicated and committed Catholics.

Yours in Christ,
Fr. Guy Rivard, O.P.  Ms. Brenda Krivuzoff, Principal
